About Us

BambooMoves Yoga is a welcoming community for people of all backgrounds to train their body, mind, and spirit in a nurturing yet challenging practice. Through our teaching students will become flexible and strong in body and mind and better equipped to deal with the various challenges of our stress filled modern lives; essentially embodying the qualities of bamboo itself.

Our Mission

Abiding by yogic ethical principles (yamas & niyamas), we conduct our business, teachings, and classes based on the principles espoused in Patañjali’s Yoga Sutras.  Honoring the ancient teachings of yoga, BambooMoves inspires the body, transcends the mind, and uplifts the spirit.  We believe that everyone can experience more peace and happiness – one smile, one breath, one move at a time.

Our classes are for students of all levels from first time yogis to life long practitioners. Each studio serves as a community center and sanctuary offering nutritional programs, workshops, selfless service, and healing.

a flow for every yogi

Restorative Yoga

Gentle movements followed by approximately 4-5 restorative poses using props such as bolsters, blankets, straps and eye pillows to assist you in soothing the body and quieting the mind. Very nourishing.

Slow Flow

Slow flow is a challenging class that moves you through postures slowly and mindfully. You will hold posture for a few breaths, fully savoring each pose. Slow flow increases strength, and leaves you feeling grounded and centered.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle classes are designed for everyone. They restore balance in a gentle, meditative way. These classes are ideal for those who want to move slowly.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa is a practice of dynamic, flowing sequences that are designed to increase strength, flexibility, endurance and focus. It is an energetic practice that creates heat in the body. Some pose knowledge is helpful, but all are welcome.

Essential Yoga

Classes emphasize foundation-essential yoga principles that free the body and mind from habitual patterns and tension. In these classes, all students-even the most seasoned-can be challenged and can find inner balance and peace.

EveryBody Essential

An essential for all! All body types and abilities. This class will marry a slow flow of yoga postures with the use of breath work and props, to make the asana accessible for your body. We will meditate during each class as well. We welcome all students to this class, especially those who have some hesitation about group classes.

Energetic Flow Yoga

Affectionately referred to as Vinyasa Lite. It’s the perfect class to attend if you would like to try a flow class, or flow a little bit slower than in vinyasa. Standing poses and sun salutations are emphasized. You will slowly develop heat focus and strength.

Prenatal Yoga

This class is suitable for pregnant women in all stages of pregnancy and of all levels.

Tai Chi (Beginner and All Level)

The ancient Chinese internal martial art uses serene, sequential forms to improve health and focus.

Advanced Asana

This class begins with a vinyasa flow and then moves into more difficult poses that are held longer. Previous experience is necessary.

Alignment Yoga

Delve deeper into the practice of yoga focusing on alignment and utilizing props. Improve your awareness of both the body and the breath. By studying and practicing the poses with this kind of precision, you will refine and develop your practice.
Yogis of all levels are more than welcome, however, yoga experience is a plus.

Baby & Me

Bring your baby, ages 0-crawling, for this fun and beneficial class! Watch them interact and play while both baby and adult develop strength, coordination, and balance! Class size limited, pre-registration and 24-hour cancellation required. New student special and unlimited memberships do not apply, class packs may be used.

Family Yoga

In Family Yoga you will find more interactive and partner poses for kids and adults to do together. The class will include beginner’s yoga poses, breathing exercises, games, and relaxation.

Tween Yoga

Fun exercises to increase flexibility, improve concentration, strengthen the body, and learn techniques for breathing and relaxation. Using visualization and breathing techniques, kids (ages 8-12) learn how to focus, relax, and become happy and healthy in body, mind, and spirit.
